Democracy at Work is the PSA’s strategic agenda. It distils the key findings of Fresh Perspectives, a year-long programme of thinking, research and discussion on the future direction of public services and the implications for us as a union.

Democracy at Work is about:

Decent work, decent workplaces

Fair pay and conditions of employment and a voice for workers in decisions about their work and services.

High performing workplaces

Positive work cultures that draw on the skills and knowledge of workers to improve the efficiency and quality of public services.

Public value

A new professionalism that’s responsive to citizens’ needs, with greater front-line influence on policy.
