Unions, employers and government signed the ground-breaking Health Relationship Agreement on 1 September 2008. The agreement sets the framwework for constructive engagement at all levels to improve jobs, productivity and the quality of health services. Read it here
Union members the bedrock of public health
The PSA is a major health union with over 15,000 members employed by district health boards. Union members are the bedrock of our public health services. The PSA is organising for good and rewarding careers that reflect the value we place on public health services and the people who provide them.
The PSA and professional issues
PSA takes a keen interest in members’ professional issues. We work closely with a number of professional associations and play an active role in the Allied Health Professional Associations’ Forum.
New agreement to tackle problems in hospitals
Unions, government and DHBs are to sign a Health Relationships Agreement designed to tackle problems in the health sector.

New code of conduct
The new State Sector Code of Conduct was issued by the State Services Commission in June 2007. It comes into force on 30 November 2007 and will apply to everyone employed by district health boards.
