Last year, after a push at Congress by PSA Youth, the PSA introduced free PSA membership for students.
Students are eligible if they are studying full-time towards work in the public or community sectors (and not employed in a workplace with PSA coverage).
It’s easy to sign up student members. Earlier this month, a few PSA staff attended The University of Auckland Epsom campus orientation and recruited 46 student members (mostly social work students) in little over an hour. If you have the opportunity to have a stall on campus, speak at a lecture, or talk to a few of your friends about joining, get in touch and we can send you materials.
