Ngati Haua, Ngati Tuwharetoa.
I whakapapa to the Waikato and Taupo on my mother’s side (Ngāti Hāuā, Ngāti Tūwharetoa) and Dunedin on my father’s side.
My background was in Statistics before joining the University of Otago to work in a number of administrative roles. My current role is team lead of administrative staff based in residential colleges.
Fairness has been highlighted as one of my core values. I have been a workplace Māori enterprise delegate since 2011, a sector māngai on Te Rūnanga o Ngā Toa Āwhina komiti, and co-convener and chair of the state sector committee. I am currently serving my second term on the PSA’s executive board.
My interests include women’s leadership, and the importance of inclusiveness and diversity in decision making. It has been an absolute privilege to serve on the executive board of Aotearoa’s largest trade union - Te Pukenga Here Tikanga Mahi. The Public Service Association - New Zealand’s most progressive and influential union.
I roto i te kotahitanga!
