Kia Ora, I’m currently standing as your Convener for the OUT Network. Although a quieter more introverted individual, I am very good at standing up for my community and what is right for them, I speak with such empathy, passion and understanding, but without blame on anyone and have strong passion and vision for this network.
Within my employment at Oranga Tamariki I am pushing for improvements in Rainbow visibility and support for staff but improving how the Ministry approaches rainbow issues with Tamariki, Rangatahi and their Whanau, by creating resources, learning opportunities for Staff to feel comfortable and confident in using the right language and support recommendations when it comes to working with our community.
After spending a long 5 years in hospitality it taught me very well to be warm, open and welcoming to engaging with people from all walks of life and from all over the world, also I come from a very open, accepting and supportive community based in Newtown, Wellington a bohemian dreamscape and it has also made me a coffee fiend, while I also know how to make a delicious flat white.
I pride myself in being a proactive and approachable non-binary individual that always looks at the bigger picture but also not forgetting the small and fine details. In my work and life I try to ensure that everyone has a fair say and representation for everyone especially those that don’t always feel comfortable in addressing problems in a public way.
My work and conduct is always to the highest quality and ethics while using my experiences and learning’s to help encourage new growth and adopt improvements into the system so barriers can be removed not only for my communities but for all of those around me.
I look forward to embarking on this journey with you and for you and please contact me at any time with queries and other such related matters to the OUT@PSA Network or if you want to catch up for a delicious cup of coffee.
