Pania Tulia
Co-Convenor / Dunedin
Place of work: Family Works - Presbyterian Support, Otago
About me: I am a Client Support Worker/Social Worker for Family Works Presbyterian Support in Otago, Dunedin. I am passionate about the work I do and the environment we as employees work in. I believe in Fair Work conditions and Employees Rights.
Social justice was a big part of why I expressed an interest in being on the Community Public Services (CPS) Sector Committee. I wanted to make a difference for my sector, which is full of caring professionals who are often undervalued for the critical work they do. One way I can do that is by stepping up and representing my fellow colleagues at a National level.
As a national delegate and co-convener on the CPS sector I am driven by my own personal experiences of Disability and Mental Health and the impact these have had on my own family. Personally and professionally I can see the challenges from both sides of the fence and believe with respect, dignity and integrity in mind for all parties it is possible to find a balance.
I look forward to representing my region at the National level for another 2 years.
