Bargaining Summary

Last updated: 2015/10/06

Auckland Allied, Public Health, Technical and Scientific (APHTS)

We will run member meetings to discuss negotiations and plan action between 5 October - 23 October.

After six months of bargaining we don’t have a formal offer. The DHBs want to move to seven-day-services and reduce weekend penal rates from double-time (T2) to time and a half (T1.5). They have discussed “grand-parenting” some staff which would protect the right to be paid T2 if they still get weekend hours, but won’t guarantee the right to actually get weekend hours. It makes economic sense to offer weekend hours to new staff who would be on cheaper T1.5. The DHBs haven’t sought to reduce weekend rates for PSA Nursing staff in this year’s negotiations.

More information will be coming soon.

Auckland Nursing

We plan to run member meetings to ratify (or report back) on a pay rise and new collective agreement between 26 October – 7 November.

The Rest-of-New Zealand PSA nursing received an offer on 24 September and we expect an offer for Auckland staff shortly. Details of the offer will be emailed prior to these meetings.

The DHB’s haven’t discussed reducing weekend rates from double-time to time-and-a-half in this negotiations. However any change to weekend rates in Allied will make it harder for us to keep them in 2017 bargaining.

Auckland Clerical

We will run member meetings to discuss negotiations for a pay rise and new collective agreement between 26 October – 7 November.

This year’s bargaining is a continuation of last year’s short-term deal.

Clerical bargaining is largely determined by Allied/Nursing negotiations which is why the reduction of weekend rates / introduction of seven day services for Allied is a concern for clerical staff.

Health Alliance

We will run member meetings to discuss negotiations for a pay rise and new collective agreement before 23 October.

Health Alliance has opted out of our Clerical MECA and want to negotiate a separate collective.

Counties-Manukau MRTs

We will run member meetings to discuss negotiations for a pay rise and new collective agreement in January 2016.

Your offer is largely determined by what happens in PSA APHTS and Apex MRT bargaining.

Waitemata DHB Security

We will run member meetings to discuss negotiations for a pay rise and new collective agreement between 26 October – 7 November.
