Rachel Taylor

Whanganui DHB

I have worked within the health sector for some years. Initially I worked in Whanganui for ten years as a midwife. I then worked at Lower Hutt as an educator followed by 13 years with ACC in a variety of roles. I am an experienced auditor with knowledge of results based accountability and contracts.

In 2017 I returned to WDHB to work in the patient safety center. I have been a PSA member for 15 years and a delegate of at least half of that time. My work experience has given me a view of the unions operations in other areas. I am site convener for WDHB and work across the campus supporting members in a variety of situations. I am committed to restorative practice wherever possible and to ensuring that our administrators are seen as the heart of the hospital through recognition and remuneration.

On a personal note I am married with two adult sons and two manic terriors. Ian and I spend a lot of time during summer travelling in our camper bus and seeing the may part of New Zealand. We recently became New Zealand citizens after nearly 30 years of residency.
