What we do

We’re the most active union at Waitemata DHB. We drive issues and engage in important DHB projects.

Protect and improve pay and conditions

We negotiate every one, two or three years to get better pay, conditions and workload. Read our contracts and find out when we negotiate again.

Support members with workplace problems

Our delegates, organisers and lawyers support individuals with workplace problems, including bullying, workload, disciplinary, ACC, performance reviews.

Identify and support workplace leaders

Our strengths comes from active members. They’re the heart of our union.

Ensure members voices are heard during change

We ensure consultation during change, reviews and restructuring is genuine. We’re also proactively involved in positive change.  See the major projects we’re involved in.

Actively monitor ongoing issues

We sit on permanent committees that monitor and review on-going projects and issues such as workload. Read more.

Provide a voice for Māori, interest groups and issues

We run a number of networks that provide a forum to discuss particular interests or organise around a specific issue, i.e. Māori, women, youth, pasefika, LGBT, eco etc. Read more.
