My name is Adele Giddens. My substantive role is a Service Manager at the Student Support Centre, Centralised Services in Palmerston North.
I’m currently seconded to an IT BA role in the IT Applications Team at NATO, but have been loaned back to Service Delivery to assist the COVID-19 Service Delivery response – talk about identity confusion!!!
I have worked for MSD, in the StudyLink service line (in it’s different guises over the years) since 1998. I truly feel like, not only was this my first ‘adult’ job, I have grown up in MSD and I am honoured to have been able to serve New Zealand for so long – and I have never been more proud to do that than now, as we all pull together so strongly in response to the COVID-19 need.
I have been a PSA member (on and off, but mostly on) over my entire career and fundamentally believe in the power of partnership and collaboration to achieve common goals through negotiation and understanding others viewpoints.
I am excited about the future possibilities that arise from the establishment of the Managers and Senior Specialists Collective Agreement and am proud to have been nominated to support you in a delegate capacity.
