Bargaining: Bunnings have settled!

After more than 11 months, First Union members employed at Bunnings Warehouse stores finally have a new collective agreement.

The new agreement came into effect last month, offering a pay rise and back pay. The issue of zero-hours and shifting contracts is addressed with a new clause giving both employers and employees a say in shift patterns.

It’s a huge relief to First Union members to reach such a positive outcome, after union members had faced uncertainty over hours and pay. After demonstrations, strikes and plenty of public support, Bunnings bosses knew their position was unfair.
