MBIE bargaining team on hand for CEA signing
A hard-won new Collective Employment Agreement was signed by PSA and the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment in Wellington this afternoon.
MBIE chief executive Carolyn Tremain and PSA assistant national secretary Basil Prestidge put ink to paper to seal the new CEA for PSA members.
Carolyn Tremain recognised the role of PSA in getting the agreement across the line and called it the beginning of a stronger relationship between MBIE and the PSA. "It was important to make sure we targeted the outcomes to our lowest paid employees as well as making sure we had something that we can fund into the future".
Basil Prestidge noted that it was particularly pleasing to have such a high ratification of the recommended settlement by members - with 95% of votes cast in favour of the deal.
The bargaining team/s are seen here just after the signing today:
Some important aspects of the agreement included preserving hours of work for members and non-members, improved leave provision and a move to form a remuneration project to address pay progression.
In addition a commitment has been secured to ensure the government's Gender Pay Principles are applied within MBIE.
