What were you initial thoughts on signing up to do this Q&A?
It would be a chance to share my thoughts & practical knowledge.
What is your job and what do you do on an average day at work?
My job title is Specialist support worker. I support intellectual disable people to increase community participation & support them to achieve their dream(goals).
What was a highlight at work for you in the past month?
To become a Team leader (step up)
What would you say is the hardest thing about your job?
Everyday is new in disability sector. Job to manage clients behavior is achievement of the day. There are time when people very upset /angry, tears behavior, So when faced its hard to keep calm& focused.
What brought you to join the PSA and the PSA Youth network?
i Joined the PSA when I began working at Community Living Limited. I have knowledge that unions play an important role for workers and I always support union.
Name one (or more) things you like about the PSA Youth network
- Recently i attended PSAY leadership training which was really motivated for youth those wants to step up in their career & required support from Union. Last but not the least, Unions organiser were cool.
- Vegetarian food at training, i loved it (as its hard to find vegetarian meals in any training)
What is your vision for youth in the PSA?
PSA is motivation for youth & PSAY has bright future. Need some more awareness campaign/training among youth workers.
How about when you aren't at work? What else do you like to do with your time?
I love to spend time with my Family.
What are your three favorite foods?
Vegetarian food ( especially North Indian Cuisine)
What are your three loves?
My family, work & food.
What are your three pet peeves?
Putting others down: Those people who criticizes in their back, because of jealousy, racism. They don't want somebody to be higher to them, I don't care if you're senior or not etc. But talking in the back, speaking rumors about that person, They think that they are right but actually it is a big peeves.
What advice would you give your 18year old self?
Stop drinking (drunk & drive), Respect for elders.
Anything else you would like to add?
I like to spread word vegetarianism. I support -save God creation save earth. Humans have lot options to eat gifted by nature (like A Lot).
Also, to educate youth about respect.
