Pay equity - lessons from Australia


Australian labour activist Lisa Heap is a passionate advocate for pay equity

At a community forum held in Wellington on November 13, 2014, Australian labour and human rights activist Lisa Heap talked about her experience of fighting for pay equity in Australia.

Lisa is currently an advisor and former executive director of the Australian Institute of Employment Rights (AIER) an independent tripartite organisation that promotes fair and decent workplace rights for all. 

She was the lead advocate for the Queensland Services Union’s landmark pay equity case for community sector workers (2008-2009).

Lisa advises the PSA on pay equity issues.
