PSA and Bay Of Plenty DHB reach agreement to support union work
In late March, PSA delegate Jacky Maaka became the first district health board sector delegate to be funded by a DHB for her delegate work.
In addition to 0.5 FTE in her previous role as an administrator, the Bay of Plenty DHB has agreed to fund Jacky to spend 20 hours per week doing PSA delegate work, and to provide additional support including an office and a mobile phone.
This dedicated role will enable the PSA to continue to thrive at BOPDHB and will create the space for more effective work between the PSA and BOPDHB to improve the working lives of our members.
Jacky is currently a convenor of PSA delegates and a member of the PSA Health Sector Committee. Her appointment to this role is a great recognition of her work as a delegate and the support that BOPDHB has for PSA and other union members.
