PSA Congress – great opportunity to make big decisions!
Express your interest to attend, and help us with remits!
If you are a PSA delegate, you should have received an invite to express your interest in attending PSA Congress in Wellington on 20-21 September this year. PSA Congress is a biennial event where delegates from across the country come together to make decisions about PSA rules and priorities, and elect the PSA president. Congress is the highest decision-making body of the PSA.
It would be great to have a strong youth presence at Congress - please consider putting in an expression of interest to attend through your sector! If you’re a delegate and haven’t received an invite or have lost track of it, you can contact the PSA Organising Centre on email@example.com. The PSA Youth Network will be selecting 3 young members to represent our network at Congress, but we want to ensure we have a lot more young members there than that!
The sectors and networks of the PSA have an opportunity to propose remits (including rule changes and proposals around PSA priorities) to be debated and voted on by delegates at Congress. At the 2014 Congress, PSA Youth proposed and successfully argued for free student membership of the PSA, network representation at future congresses, and transitional membership of the PSA for people in between jobs.
PSA Youth members have lots of great ideas about different ways of doing things, and we’d love to hear any suggestions for remits to take to Congress this year. You can get in touch with any suggestions. We’d also like to form a working party of members to fine tune these suggestions into remits. Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested in being part of this discussion. Any remits need to be submitted by 20 May.
