New collective agreement reached at Oranga Tamariki
01 Feb 2019
PSA members have successfully ratified the first collective agreement for Oranga Tamariki, establishing a strong base for future employment relations.
“We are thrilled about the successful passing of this agreement, and the establishment of a joint work programme that will allow us to implement further significant steps forward for members,” says Glenn Barclay, PSA national secretary.
“We are also very happy to see some significant pay rises of 16-20% over the course of the 31 month term for our lowest paid groups.”
The ratification comes after a series of nationwide meetings held by the PSA with members at Oranga Tamariki over the last three weeks.
“The ratification of this agreement is only the beginning. The Terms of Settlement demonstrate that there’s a lot of work to be done, and we’re excited to get stuck in.”
“We appreciate everybody’s engagement during the bargaining process, and will be using all the ideas and voices to continue to advance terms and conditions throughout this term.”
“With the strength of our members behind us, we can continue to bring solutions to Oranga Tamariki to achieve progress on some of the longstanding legacy issues since the days of CYF.”
“We will continue to passionately advocate for members and ensure that this exciting new collective operates to enhance and advantage our members working lives.”
“This is a great platform that gives us a strong place to stand together for the future.”
