The PSA acknowledges the need for change in the water services sector, and we support the Government’s reforms to bring about much-needed change. We were supportive of the model contained in the Water Services Entities Act 2022, and saw benefits in the economies of scale created by four Water Services Entities (WSEs).
We acknowledge that the move from four WSEs to ten aims to strike a balance between economies of scale and local voice. The shift to ten WSEs with staggered starting dates does, however, create some challenges for the transition process for workers.
Our submission contains some recommendations to address these challenges.
